Qatar's mission in Brussels inaugurated the new headquarters of its embassy.

The inauguration was attended by Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders, HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Mureikhi along with a number of Belgian officials and high-level representatives of European institutions as well as Arab and foreign ambassadors accredited to Belgium and representatives of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

NATO Announces Qatari Embassy As Accredited Mission

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has announced the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Belgium as an accredited mission to NATO and its Ambassador as head of the Mission.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed his great confidence that this step would benefit the State of Qatar and NATO on practical and political levels, through upgrading institutional work between them, which in turn contributes to strengthening their partnership within the framework of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI) .

Qatar's UNESCO Candidate Stresses Education role in peace, eradicating terrorism

HE Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, an advisor at the Emiri Diwan and Qatar's candidate for the position of UNESCO director general, has stressed the role of education in "raising awareness about peace and draining the springs of terrorism that emanate from the hotbeds of conflict and the impoverished regions that are overshadowed by ignorance." HE Dr. Al Kuwari made the remarks as he addressed representatives of the European Union at the European Parliament on Tuesday night in Brussels.

The State of Qatar's candidate to the Post of the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Advisor at the Emiri Diwan, HE Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, stressed the need for the cooperation and solidarity of the international community to fight terrorism.

Terrorism is a common threat of whole humanity and it does not differentiate between its targets, he said, condemning all forms of terrorism.

The State of Qatar's candidate to the Post of the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Advisor at the Emiri Diwan, HE Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, arrived in the Belgian capital, Brussels, on Sunday to deliver a speech in the European Union headquarters to introduce his election program and explain his vision for the future of the UN Organization.
