    Education City covers fourteen million square meters and houses a range of educational and research facilities, branch campuses and some of the world's leading universities. It aims to be the center for educational excellence in the region and is also a forum where world-renowned universities share research and facilities with each other and with businesses and institutions in the public and private sectors. The campuses are extensions of their parent universities, and admissions standards, curricula and degrees are identical to those of the home institutions.

  • Education City provides education to students of all ages. School-aged education is provided by Qatar Academy and the Learning Center School. Qatar Academy is comprised of a primary and senior school and offers a high-quality international education for boys and girls from preschool to university entrance. The Learning Center School helps students who are experiencing academic problems develop compensatory skills.
  • The Academic Bridge Program offers a university-preparatory program and aims to equip top-calibre secondary school graduates for admission to, and success in, degree programs both at Qatar Foundation's Education City campuses and other world-class universities.
  • There are just under 2500 students studying at Education City. About forty-nine percent of university students are Qatari. Together, students, staff and faculty represent forty-five different nationalities.

  • Key to Qatar Foundations philosophy of excellence is the Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP). QSTP aims to fuel Qatar's knowledge economy by encouraging companies from around the world to develop and commercialize their technology in Qatar, and by helping entrepreneurs to launch start-up technology businesses. Another unique educational partnership is Sidra Medical and Research Center, a specialty teaching hospital. Scheduled to open in 2011, Sidra will offer world-class clinical care, medical training and biomedical research.

  • Qatar Foundation supports a range of community development work including broadcasting ventures, such as The Doha Debates, QatarDebate, Lakom Al Karar, and Al Jazeera Children's Channel (JCC). By engaging with the community, broadcast activities compliment other community ventures initiated by Qatar Foundation.
